Program Overview

Humairah Charity Foundation (HUCHAFO) is committed to nurturing strong Islamic faith values in individuals and communities, while also building bridges of understanding, peace, and cooperation among people of different faiths. We recognize that Uganda — like much of the world — is home to diverse religious communities, and our approach is rooted in the belief that faith can be a force for unity, not division.

This program promotes a deep understanding of Islamic teachings centered on compassion, justice, peace, and service to humanity, while creating safe spaces for dialogue and joint action with Christian and other faith-based organizations.

Program Goals

  • To promote a deeper understanding and practice of Islamic values, especially among youth and women

  • To encourage mutual respect and peaceful coexistence between Muslims and people of other faiths

  • To counter religious intolerance, ignorance, and extremism through education and community engagement

  • To foster partnerships across faiths for shared community development goals

  • Muslim youth, women, and religious leaders

  • Interfaith leaders, organizations, and community-based groups

  • Schools, religious institutions (mosques, churches), and peacebuilding networks

  • Broader communities affected by religious misunderstandings or divisions

Key Program Components

1. Islamic Values Education

  • Organizing faith-based education programs focusing on:

    • Mercy, justice, charity (Zakat), humility, and service

    • The importance of education, honesty, and peaceful living in Islam

    • Combating ignorance, extremism, and harmful cultural practices

  • Training Imams, youth leaders, and women in faith-based leadership and social responsibility

2. Interfaith Dialogue and Peacebuilding

  • Hosting community dialogues and roundtable discussions between Muslim, Christian, and other faith communities

  • Celebrating shared values and holidays to promote mutual understanding and respect

  • Facilitating joint community service projects and humanitarian outreach efforts

3. Youth & Women Engagement

  • Equipping young Muslims with the tools to lead in both faith and public life

  • Promoting interfaith youth clubs and peace ambassador programs

  • Empowering Muslim women to engage confidently in religious, social, and interfaith initiatives

4. Collaborative Community Projects

  • Partnering with churches, mosques, and other groups to address shared issues like poverty, education, and health

  • Creating inclusive platforms for service delivery that cut across faith lines

  • Joint campaigns against violence, discrimination, and social injustice
